Our Story

From our Founder

Conventional video conferencing tools, were never designed for training and assessment. Telehealth solutions are for service delivery and NOT for training and accreditation. Telegenz fills this gap.

I am a medical doctor with a background in software development and been a clinical educator for over 10 years. While using various video platforms during clinical teaching, there were concerns around real patient involvement and student engagement wasn’t optimum at all, THAT’s when the idea for a purpose-built telehealth skills training platform was born.

Telemedicine is a great solution to global workforce shortages in healthcare, however, remote patient assessment is a different skillset in its own right. Rather than watching a pre-recorded video, Telegenz offers real-time, synchronous engagement between students and patient, in the presence of a qualified tutor. It maintains data obligations, globally and is designed to facilitate structured sessions and feedback, that can be customized to any discipline. Training in this skillset on our purpose-built platform, will enable healthcare providers to carry out sound remote patient assessment and offer effective consultation, using any telehealth solution, deployed at their workplace.

Once developed, the ability to customize our platform to any training’s need, attracted several other use cases. From use in EPAs and clinical trials training to use at Law and Business schools in Negotiation and Decision Making skills, sales and corporate trainings, continued professional development, microcredentials and accreditation. Telegenz is for organisations providing innovative training for quality and safe, remote professional practices, in real-time, through real or simulated engagement.
